Prototyping of a Riceboy

It's been a while since I wrote something--I was still in college taking up Industrual Design, preparing product descriptions, material specs, project rationales and technical manuals. Writing something like this is totally new to me. So kindly bare with me.

I'm creating this blog to feature my work which consists of concept designs, mock-ups and prototypes in their development stage, and actual production models. All will reflect my desire to promote sustainability and eco-design. I believe that a good design doesn't have to be expensive nor is there a need to sacrifice quality to keep prices low. There is always a way to find solutions and I will be diligent in finding it. Although some solutions maybe unorthodox, they are effective and efficient. Undergoing continuous experimentation and material research, we can learn to appreciate the dynamism of design by descovering new applications for objects and things we see everyday.

By the end of this year, I will start production of my designs. Hopefully the first set of prototypes will be finished at the end of September. I'll be posting it here for everyone to see so be sure to check this blog regularly. I will NOT mass produce my pieces, only a limited number will be available. Additional orders will be available through
email. I'll be posting the email address soon.

For the people who really know me-- they know how much I love rice. I love it so much I was able to finish 10 refills of rice at a Japanese restaurant. It's probably the first thing my friends here at work associate me with and I am not ashamed to admit that I am the reason why the office has two(2) rice cookers.

They always said I looked Japanese, ever since I was still in Zobel. Never really paid too much attention to it. But now-- hehe n_n

I love Jpop, Anime and Manga, mostly everything that comes from Japan, It's where I get most of my inspiration for my work. I like the way it combines simplicity and functionality. The aesthetic value it creates through the use of straight lines. You can easily identify the ergonomics applied to the products. Their design philosophy is so simple and yet
unexpected, it'll leave you wondering how in the world did they come up with that?

Well that's it for now. I will be modifying this blog so make sure you add this blog to your links. Mata Aimasho! Ja!
